Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Allows For Repatriation Of Vietnamese Citizens
ICE released a press statement announcing the signing of a
memorandum of understanding with Vietname. Under this agreement,
Vietnamese nationals who arrived in the US on or after July 12,
1995 are subject to return to Vietnam.
In the past, some Vietnamese nationals who were ordered removed by immigration judges could not be deported back to Vietname because theu did not have valid Vietnamese passports or travel documents. The signed MOU would help the United States to deport them.
PLease note only these who entered the United States on or after July 12, 1995 are subject to this MOU. For those entered earlier can still find a way to stay even after the removal orders.
