Some new developments in our law firm

All of our mandamus actions have moved very fast: it took an average of about 70 days from the date of filing to have our immigration applications adjudicated. The only exception is our mandamus action to compel the CIS to conduct interview in a N-400 application. This case was filed on January 5, 2008 and is set for government's motion to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction on April 25, 2008. 1447b cases(for N-400 applicants interviewed but did not receive a decision within 120 days after the interview), the average time is much shorter: about 60 days.

We just had all serious criminal charges against our client dropped yesterday in state court. Our client is charged with pimping, among other things. If convicted, he will be deported after serving time in state prison. The District Attorneys Office realized, after our maneuver, they did not have a solid case against our client and they dismissed all charges, with prejudice, at yesterday's hearing.

Ms. T, after spending 8 years fighting deportation, was finally granted relief by immigration judge last week. Ms. T was previously represented by two other attorneys, each one ruined her case. We started representing her after the judge ordered her deportation. The motion to BIA was granted and the case was remanded for new hearing. Because damaged caused by previous attorney, we have had difficult time conducting new hearing. The judge was very suspicious of Ms. T testimony because of the contradictions embodied in her previous testimony and her current one. Nonetheless we managed to overcome these difficulties and successfully convinced the judge that she deserves a relief.

Another client who had an abortion in her home country and is now pregnant for her second baby. The Asylum Office approved her application for asylum mainly based on her current pregnancy.

How has USCIS changed its tackling of Mandamus lawsuits for delayed I485 applications after the 02/04/2008 memo which allows for adjudication and card issuance if the case is otherwise approvable and FBI NC was pending more than 180 days?

Has you office seen a change in AUSA's MTD because of that?

How can one find mandamus cases filed by your firm in Pacer?

Best,
Jeff
